- 2026 Passport RTL
Hello! As a new Passport owner I wish I could keep this positive, but right now I am incredibly annoyed. We purchased a brand new 2026 Passport RTL in December. Five days later, it overheated because Honda sold us a vehicle that was missing the cooling fan fuse. We had the car towed to Southeast Honda in Palm Bay, FL. An online search tells me that the missing fuse is specifically a factory omission for the 2026 Passport and a recurring issue that American Honda Motor Corp. was aware of. Further, according to Google, "An engine overheating significantly reduces its longevity by causing premature wear, warping, and potential catastrophic failure."
As the 2026 Passport only comes with a 5 year/60,000 mile warranty, I wanted a replacement vehicle or at the least, a greatly extended warranty on the engine. American Honda opened our case and nearly a month later notified me that because I was missing a fuse, Honda installed a fuse. The representative stated that since our vehicle is currently running fine, Honda has no further obligation and our case will be closed.
We drive our vehicles forever. Our last Accord lasted over 350k miles. At this point, I feel like I need to sell our new Passport before the 60k mile warranty expires. What the hell kind of company operates like this?
